皮膚科医ってわけじゃないけど、ハワイ行った時俺も同じ感じのラッシュガードと帽子で完全防備してたわ。慣れてない日差しって、ちょっと油断するだけであっという間に酷い日焼けするからな。日焼け止めもあるっちゃあるけど、水や汗で落ちるし、頻繁に塗り直すのだるいじゃん。帽子とシャツ羽織る方が絶対楽だった。

I’m not a dermatologist, but when I visited Hawaii I wore a long sleeve swim shirt and a hat like that. If your body isn’t used to that kind of sun, it doesn’t take much to get an awful burn. Yes there is sunscreen, but it washes off and you have to reapply a lot. It was much easier to throw on a hat and shirt. Since they are visitors and likely not used to sun like that, they are being smart.

これ、ただの紫外線対策で片づけるには出来すぎてない？ 皮膚科医が観光地ハワイで“全員そろって”完全防備を見せる――偶然にしては絵が強すぎるよね。点と点をつなげると、これは「焼けるのが健康的」という古い空気をひっくり返す無言の宣伝だったのかも。表では学会、でも裏では価値観の更新が始まってる気がする。
