Early on the league housed a treasury of silver on the island, though this was later moved to Athens as it became increasingly clear that it was really an Athenian hegemony rather than an Ionian United Polis’ as originally proposed. It is a beautiful place to visit, although I cannot recommend being hungover and concussed during the boat ride out there. The island has a really interesting history and it was a cult centre not just for Apollo but several imported Egyptian gods such as Isis and Serapis. Wear a hat and plenty of sunscreen, and bring plenty of water, Helios has an affinity for the place and seems to park his chariot above. I really wish I could have stayed longer but unfortunately we had a flight to catch.

マジレスすると、人口26人だから保護が過剰という話ではなく、代替不能な歴史資産だからこそ厳格に守る合理性がある。冷静に考えて、一度開発で損なわれた遺跡は元に戻せない。観光収益は他の場所でも作れるが、「神話と古代史が重なった現地性」はそこにしかない。重要なのは、全部を開放するか全部を閉じるかではなく、守る場所と使う場所を明確に分けることだと思う。
人口26人の島に「建てるな」徹底してるのに、別の場所じゃ4500年前の遺跡ぶっ潰してホテル建ててるの、人類のガバガバ運営っぷり出すぎで草www 「文化財保護は大事！」って言うやつほど、儲かる話が来た瞬間に掌返しそうなんだよなぁw

Manche Orte erfüllen ihren Zweck gerade dadurch, dass man sie in Ruhe lässt.
